Maj White enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and reported to MCRD San Diego on 3 March 1987. After boot camp he reported to J-52 Jet Engine School in Millington, TN and then to a follow on school at Whidbey Island, WA. He reported to his reserve unit, VMAQ-4 at Whidbey Island in October 1987.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Southern Oregon University, Maj White was commissioned a 2ndLt on 11 Dec 1992. After The Basic School, 2ndLt White reported to Air Traffic Control School in Millington, TN. 2ndLt White was then assigned to MACS-4 and through the Fleet Assistance Program assigned to MCAS Futenma, Okinawa Japan.

1stLt White received orders to MCAS Beaufort, SC in 1996 as the Air Traffic Control Facility Officer. He was promoted to Captain in January 1997. In 1999, Capt White received orders to Marine Corps University to attend the resident Professional Military Education Command and Control Systems School.

In 2000, Capt White reported in to MACS-1(Rein) in Yuma, AZ and took command of Air Traffic Control Detachment C.

In 2001 Capt White relinquished command and was assigned as the Asst Operations Officer and Training Officer for MCAS-1(Rein).

In 2003, Capt White deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and assumed command of Air Traffic Control Detachment B while in Kuwait. March 2003, Capt White was promoted to Major and deployed with Det B into Iraq as the maneuver ATC Detachment. Maj White and ATC Det B established IFR Dets in Jalibah and An Nu’maniyah. Later in 2003, Maj White was assigned to United States Northern Command in Colorado Springs, CO. and served as the Defense Support to Civil Authorities Branch Chief, Deputy Command Center Crew Chief, Training Standardization/Evaluation Officer, and Command Center Crew Chief Trainer. In 2006, Maj White received orders to Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA to attend Joint and Combined Warfighting School Joint Professional Military Education Phase II.

In September 2006, Maj White checked into Marine Air Control Group-28, Cherry Point, NC and was assigned as the Executive Officer for MACS-2. In 2007, Maj White deployed to Al Asad, Iraq with MACS-2 as the XO and returned to Cherry point in 2008. In May 2008, Maj White was assigned as the XO for MASS-1. In October 2008, Maj Was was assigned as the Wing Airspace Control Officer and Future Operations Officer on the G3 staff for 2d Marine Aircraft Wing.

Maj White was assigned as the MCAS Cherry Point Air Traffic Control Facility Officer from 26 Jun 09 - 21 Oct 11. His official retirement from the Marine Corps is 1 Feb 12.
