GySgt Roach originally joined the facility on 4 Mar 98 as a ATC student and qualified through Tower Flight Data, Ground Control and Local Control on 28 Sep 99. On 2 Dec 99, he transferred to MACS-2.

After almost 12 years of hunting terrorists and saving lives, GySgt Roach was summoned back to the facility on 15 February 2011 to restore hope and sanity. GySgt Roach immediately filled the billet as Crew Officer for Crew 3 and then the Radar Chief from 23 Aug 11 to 22 Apr 12. On 27 Apr 12, he was promoted to Master Sergeant and then on 1 May 12, transferred to MACS-2 to take over the detachment at MCALF Bogue.

GySgt Roach was born 24 August 1977 in Indiana (the greatest state north of the Mason-Dixon) and became one of the World’s Finest on 2 June 1997. GySgt Roach is the president of the Cherry Point Air Traffic Control On-the-Job Drinking Association and the co-founder of the Cherry Point ATC Deer Hunter’s Club. GySgt Roach is married to the former Meredith Craney and has a daughter, Ashlynn, a son, Haedon, and a boxer, Windsor. GySgt Roach’s personal decorations include the Congressional Medal of Awesomeness, the Key to the Approach Gate, and the Silver Coffee Urn.
